Nikon, Turning Creator Culture into Brand Relevance

For Nikon Norway, we created Oslo Inspired. A creator led event platform designed to reconnect the brand with a younger creative audience through culture, community and authentic storytelling.

Solution

Instead of positioning Nikon as the direct organiser, we dedicated an event to one of Oslo’s most exciting Nikon Creators, Ignat Wiig. By letting him moderate, curate, and shape the event, we built something that felt authentic, personal, and credible. He got to invite 4 co-hosts from different cultures and backgrounds to inspire the audience and give them a glimpse of their creative process and expression. We had one photographer, one fashion designer, one up-coming pop-artist and one artist. And the ending, one dinner with all the invitees and co-hosts.

Challenge

While Nikon is recognized as an iconic brand in photography, the brand needed to strengthen its relevance within a new generation shaped by video, social media, and creator culture. Traditional product communication alone was no longer enough to capture attention or build meaningful engagement.

The challenge was to create a platform that felt credible within the creative community while strengthening brand visibility, cultural relevance and product interest among influential creators.

Solution

Instead of placing Nikon at the center, we built the experience around one of Oslo’s most respected Nikon creators, Ignat Wiig. Together with a curated group of artists, designers, musicians, and photographers, Oslo Inspired became an intimate and highly shareable event centered around creativity, conversation and personal expression.

The initiative shifted Nikon’s communication from traditional PR toward a more contemporary and community driven approach, where creators themselves became the storytellers. Through authentic participation, organic content, and cross cultural relevance, the platform generated significant social reach, strong PR impact and increased product interest, while helping Nikon reconnect with a creative audience that had long been out of reach.
